What we treat
With inflammation playing a major role in many of the challenging diseases of our time, here at Acupuncture to the People, we recognize that preventing the acute and chronic signs of inflammation must become the central focus of how I treat. Some of the classic signs of inflammation most people commonly recognize are things like pain, redness, and swelling. Meanwhile, some of the more vague symptoms that go undetected indicating long term inflammation has been in the body are body aches, fatigue, brain-fog, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety, depression, weight gain, headaches, allergies, acne breakouts, and frequent infections. Given this, acupuncture is a remarkable tool, as it produces biological responses that are both anti-inflammatory and analgesic. It also improves circulation, relieves muscle tension and calms the nervous system.
how we do it
Using acupuncture needles, your practitioner will stimulate specific points on the body that will treat the pain and inflammation, thereby assisting the body’s ability to restore normal function.
In addition to the use of acupuncture, I am able to incorporate (or solely use for needle-averse patients) non-invasive/needle-free techniques such as cupping, gua sha, massage, infrared heat. I also combine more modern technology such as FDA-approved devices including LED light therapy and micro-current devices. All of these are designed to treat inflammation and heal the affected tissues, the very cause of pain, and its accompanying side effects.
I also assist every patient in developing their own plan of care; using evidence-based interventions such as plant-based nutrition, supplementation, and mind-body therapies, clients can discover and create strategies that they choose and will tailor to their needs in order for them to live more optimal lives.
Acupuncture to the People supports the need and use of other integrative practitioners. If I feel that the patient might require other areas of expertise in conjunction with acupuncture, I can refer the patient to the right person.
